When running a Manual Bank Reconciliation.
Enter Direct Debit or Credit Items:
From the add items tab you can add a direct debit or credit item directly, resulting in the recording of a reconciled item and the generation of a general ledger journal entry of type DE with the following transaction details:
- Bank account (credit).
- Account number as specified (debit) for amount net of GST.
- GST inputs credit account (debit).
To Add Debit or Credit Items:
- In the transactions menu, click bank reconciliation.
- The present items form displays, click the add items tab. For help completing the fields, see Table 7: bank reconciliation add items tab field explained.
Note: Only enter GST free items in this form, such as bank charges and expenses that are not matter related. Enter GST included items in C ash receipts input or Input payment vouchers. - When you have completed the fields, do one of the following to save the form entries:
- Click apply to add the item to the reconciled items grid as reconciled.
- Click OK to add the item directly to the bank reconciliation without reviewing in the reconciled items grid. The status bar confirms the item is reconciled.

| Field | Description |
| Reconciliation Reference | Enter a bank reference number. Usually the date and page number of the bank statement. |
| Item No. | Enter an item number, usually a cheque number or a receipt reference. |
| Date | This field is automatically populated with the current date. To change the date, click the arrow and select from the date picker or enter the date in dd/mm/yyyy format. |
| Details | Enter the payee or pater details. |
| Gross Amount | Enter the gross amount of the transaction including GST |
| GST | Automatically calculated from the gross amount. |
| GL Account No. | Click on ellipsis and select the general ledger account number. |
| Period | Click the arrow and select the accounting period, either current (C- Default) or Previous (P). |

You can also: enter a bank reconciliation transaction from the Main Menu > Accounting > Bank Reconciliation > Present Items.
