Install the Application Software

This topic describes how to install the application software when upgrading to a later release.

Before you Start:

Please note that you must install the same versions of:

  • PracticeManagement_Client_Vxx.y.nnnn.msi
  • LawMaster_Outlook_AddIn_Vxx.y.nnnn.msi

If you don’t have the same versions of each installed you will receive an error when Outlook communicates with LawMaster.

The recommended approach is to install the new release application software into a training environment and test first. Any computers with the new LawMaster Outlook add-in will not work with the production database until it is upgraded because it has an earlier version. If you require further information, please contact LawMaster Support.

To Install the Software:

Run the following three client files from where you saved them, L:\LawMasterV10Installs\Release Files\Client:

LawMaster_Client_Startup_Vxx.y.nnnn.msi LawMaster client startup
PracticeManagement_Client_Vxx.y.nnnn.msi Practice management client application
LawMaster_Outlook_AddIn_Vxx.y.nnnn.msi Outlook add in
You can install the application software before upgrading your database and application server software. Any computers with the new Law Master Outlook add-in will not work with the production database until it is upgraded.
