The LawMaster Custom Document Properties feature was introduced in 2019 with a requirement for Document Templates to be saved in .DOCX format. The following year, LawMaster migrated WP Forms to the Open XML standard with existing forms updated to the .DOCX format. Given that .DOCX has been the default file format since the release of Word 2007, and its benefits include enhanced security and access to the latest features and improvements in document editing, we recommend you to transition your Document Templates from .DOC to .DOCX format.
