This feature in LawMaster allows you to exclude/include the cost transactions prior to finalising the interim bill and raising the debtor balance. You can choose the costs that you want to bill for a matter.
The excluding transaction does not write the entry off; it just defers it until the next bill is raised.
Such cost entries remain on the matter Costs screen until they have been billed off.
Step-by-step guide
To include/exclude a cost transaction in a matter bill:
- On the matter toolbar, click Costs.
- The cost transactions for the active matter display in latest transaction order.
- Click to highlight the transaction to include/exclude for billing from the grid. You can select multiple transactions by holding the Ctrl key from your keyboard.
- Right-click and select the exclude or include options from the context menu, as applicable:
Include selected - Includes all the highlighted cost transactions.
Exclude selected - Exclude all the highlighted cost transactions.
Exclude NOT selected - Excludes all the transactions that are not highlighted.
Include excluded - Includes all excluded cost transactions.
In the costs grid, all the excluded transactions are highlighted in Yellow colour and the included transactions are highlighted in White colour in the grid.
