Addressee on Bill forms and Debtor Statements

Modified on Wed, 7 Feb at 12:47 AM

Problem

The addressee on the Bill Form, the Matter Debtor Statement and the Debtor Statement will depend on how your Matter Details are set and also how your forms are coded.

Solution

The forms work in the following way:

Bill form [BB]:

  • This will address the bill to the billing entity on the matter.
  • If the billing entity is not set on the matter, the billing entity will be set as the client.
  • If the Account To field is completed in the matter details, the name and address of the entity in the Account To field will become the name and address on the bill [This will populate fields 04 - 09 and 26]
  • If the Client ID field is completed in the matter details, this will appear on the bill if the Client Contact field is on the form [field 22 - Client Contact].
  • By default, this form saves to the folios on the matter.

Matter Debtor Statement [MS]:

  • This will address the Statement to the billing entity on the matter.
  • If the billing entity is not set on the matter, the Statment will be addressed to the client.
  • If the Account To field is completed in the matter details, the name and address of the entity in the Account To field will become the name and address on the Statement [ his will populate fields 04 - 09]
  • There is no field for the Client ID in this form so this information cannot be pulled through onto the Matter Debtor Statement.
  • By default, this form saves to the folios on the matter.

Debtor Statement [CS]:

  • This will address the Statement to the billing entity on the matter.
  • If the billing entity is not set on the matter, the Statment will be addressed to the client.
  • There is no field for the Account To field in this form so this information cannot be pulled through onto the Debtor Statement.
  • There is no field for the Client ID in this form so this information cannot be pulled through onto the Debtor Statement.
