Problem 


When trying to merge a Word template from LawMaster you get the error: 



Solution


This Word error is being thrown by Word and is not related to LawMaster however the below steps can be used to overcome the issue. 


We recommend that you discuss this with your IT provider to take into account your total security policy. 


  1. Open Word 
  2. Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings... > Trusted Locations 
  3. Click Add new location... 
  4. Click Browse..
  5. Navigate to C:\Users<Windows Username>\AppData\Roaming\LawMaster\PracticeManagement\<Production Database Folder>\<LawMaster Username>\temp\
    Where:
    1. <Windows Username> is the Windows Username of the person logged into the machine in question running LawMaster
    2. <Production Database Folder> is the name of your Production database 
    3. <LawMaster Username> is the LawMaster username that was used to login to LawMaster
  6. Click OK 
  7. Check Subfolders of this location are also trusted 
  8. Click OK 
  9. Click OK 
  10. Click OK


Note: The prefix for the Production Database Folder in Step 5 must be either of the below:
HST-APP22-A. 

HST-APP22-B.

This has changed from the "APPHOST" named server prefiixes in November 2024
