LawMaster slows down for the whole firm at certain times of the day

Problem


LawMaster has been freezing intermittently, about once or twice a day and it appears to be happening firm-wide and will last only a few minutes. 


Solution


There are 3 main causes of slowdowns when they affect the whole firm: 

  1. Network issue: 
    1. There is a bandwidth, router, switch etc issue on your network that is causing the whole network to slow down at certain times of the day. 
  2. Server issue: 
    1. The server is running out of resources eg) Memory, Hard disk space, hard disk can't operate fast enough, CPU is maxing out etc 
  3. 3rd party software issue: 
    1. Antivirus etc is interrupting the process of the LawMaster client talking to the LawMaster server.


If you host your own LawMaster Database or DMS then we suggest speaking to your IT to investigate the slowdowns. 


If however LawMaster hosts your Database or DMS then please have your IT investigated points 1 and 3 and contact the LawMaster Helpdesk with regards to point 2. 


If the slowdowns happen at the same time each day then investigating the Microsoft server logs and what else occurs at that time might help.
