A list of common issues that can occur post installation and some troubleshooting steps to help resolve them.
Application Startup Error:
If you get the following error message on launching LawMaster, please follow the instructions below to resolve the issue:
- You will need to change the default path of the default L: drive mapping to the C: drive for the Location.location.config and Location.location. orig.config files found in the LawMaster Program Files (x86) folder:
2. Open the files highlighted in the screenshot above in NotePad as an Administrator and replacing the L:\ with C:\ and then save and over the top of them:
Vstor40_x64.exe ERROR:
If you get the is error message while installing the Outlook Addin, this means you need to install the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office.

LawMaster - Outlook Addin:
This error occurs when Outlook is opened (or remains open during an install) before LawMaster is Opened after it is installed.
To resolve the issue close both LawMaster and Outlook, then reopen LawMaster first, followed by Outlook.
Note: once this has been done you can then open Outlook and LawMaster in any order going forward.
Unable to connect to "LawMaster" Service:
This error can occur after an upgrade, where the shortcuts and pinned icons on the taskbar have not been updated. To resolve the issue, unpin any LawMaster icons on the taskbar and delete any desktop shortcuts for LawMaster. Launch LawMaster from Start Menu and repin /create shortcuts from the Startup Manager Client.
NOTE: Do not create a Shortcut or Pin for the Practice management client as this will result in the same error message.
