Can't create a bill

Modified on Wed, 7 Feb at 12:52 AM

Problem

You can create a Draft Bill but can't create an Interim or Final Bill

Solution

To create an interim bill, you will need to:

  1. Have an authorisation limit that is greater than or equal to the value of the fees + disbursements that you are trying to bill As set against your user in Security > Maintain User > Modify User:

  2. AND deletion rights to File Class X
    OR
Amendment rights to File Class X; AND
    1. Is the Partner for the Matter; OR
    2. Is the Lawyer for the Matter; OR
    3. Is a delegated user of the Matter Partner; OR
    4. Is a delegated user of the Matter Lawyer.

Deletion and Amendment rights are set against the default users (eg DEF1) that the user is a member of via the File Classes tab.

IMPORTANT: Do not make changes to File Class security without understanding what you are doing as they could "break" access to LawMaster for everyone!
