When saving email attachments to a matter as separate folios. This applies to the version of LawMaster from Sweden and after.
Step-by-step guide
We will go through two processes for this How-to article.
Process 1. Drag and Drop
- Drag and Drop the email into the relevant LawMaster matter causing the Floating File Note window to pop up.
- Selecting "Open Item" will open the dragged email
- Below Open Item in the "Insert Precis Variable" dropdown you can choose from a list of variables to insert into the Precis for the email or attachments using the "Insert" button.
- Selecting "Information Types" will open the Parameter Lookup window to assign that folio with a Information Type.
- The Override File Name field provides the ability to override the default file name.
- By selecting the Checkbox for each attachment you can have a attachment added as a separate folio or keep it attached in the original email.
- When you are ready, select OK to save the email and attachments as folios.
Process 2. Floating File Note
- Select the "Floating" icon in the top left hand corner of the LawMaster screen, this will open the below window.
- As you can see, when using the Floating File Note you have more options to add more information or make changes before adding the email or attachments.
- With the Floating File Note you can change the attachments to be saved on a different matter and you have the ability to spellcheck the Precis of each matter
If you attempt to Drag and Drop or Floating File Note multiple emails into LawMaster you will not be able to add the attached documents as separate folios and you will receive this message when attempting to do so... |
