Change a Resources/Users Initials

Modified on Wed, 27 Mar at 2:21 AM

It is not possible to alter a users Resource Number/ID as this is a Primary Key.

However you can create a new user with the correct initials and then transfer all the folios, matters etc to the new user.

Step-by-step guide

  1. To create a copy of the existing user with the correct initials:
    1. Go to Security > Maintain User Security

    2. Select the user with the incorrect initials
    3. Click Copy user
    4. Enter the Correct Initials and users name
    5. Click Set Password to set a temporary password
    6. Click OK
    7. Click OK
  2. To copy the Bring-ups, Folios (that the user is an author of) and Matters to the new user from the old one:
    1. Close and reopen LawMaster
    2. Go to Security > Maintain User Security
    3. Select the user with the incorrect initials
    4. Click Transfer User
    5. Tick the relevant boxes for the data you want to copy across
    6. Click the ... New User Id button
    7. Select the user with the correct initials
    8. Click OK
    9. Click OK
  3. You should then mark the incorrect user as a no log-on:
    1. Go to Security > Maintain User Security
    2. Select the user with the incorrect initials
    3. Click the User Settings tab
    4. Tick the No Login box
